Create, Explore, Connect
The Harvest Moon Society invites artists, makers, musicians, writers, and creative practitioners to join us in Clearwater, Manitoba for our 2027 Artist‑in‑Residence Program. Our residencies support work rooted in land, rural culture, ecology, food systems, and community.
Residents live and work at the Harvest Moon Learning Centre, connecting with farmers, gardeners, educators, and land stewards who shape the Clearwater community.
There is something pretty special about spending time with people who are willing to share their knowledge, their stories, their food, their work, and their time. Creativity grows, not only through dedicated time to explore new ideas, but through conversations, chance encounters, and laughter.

Emerging Artists
Harvest Moon Society is pleased to offer two artist-in-residence opportunities for third- and fourth-year students at the University of Manitoba School of Art.
Selected applicants will be invited to participate in a two-week artist residency at the Harvest Moon Learning Centre in Clearwater MB, taking place between May 1 and June 30, 2027. Applications will be reviewed by a jury composed of Harvest Moon Society members and former artists-in-residence.
During the residency, the artists will engage in shared learning experiences with our network of land stewards, knowledge keepers, and experimental farmers. At the end of the HMS residency, the artists will be invited to give an Artist Talk to the community to showcase their practice, research and recent artistic explorations. HMS will provide accommodations (private dorm room), large classroom space to be used as a studio, and access to a fully outfitted commercial kitchen and shower facilities.
Successful applicants will be responsible for transportation to and from Clearwater as well as all expenses related to your stay (food, art supplies, etc). If transportation may be an issue, please indicate this in your application and we can discuss options for alternative transportation to Clearwater.
