Learn how to collage your favourite plants with artist and illustrator, Emily Fyfe! Emily is based on Treaty Six Territory, just outside of Rich Valley, Alberta, and is an Artist in Residence at Harvest Moon Learning Centre in Clearwater, Manitoba, this July. Emily graduated from Alberta University of the Arts' Visual Communication Design program with Distinction in 2023. Her work consists primarily of mixed media collages, drawings, and paintings that document her experiences living rurally and the natural world surrounding her. In this workshop, you'll learn how to break plants down into basic shapes that can be cut out and assembled from paper, mixing colours with watercolours, and creating details with coloured pencil. Supplies are available, or bring your own favourite watercolours, coloured pencils, paper, scissors, and glue!
