Late Fall 2025

The year-round activity at the Harvest Moon Learning Centre keeps building. The Fibre Arts Retreat is coming up, Agrarian After Dark is returning to The Park Theatre, our Artist Residency program is expanding, and we’re running a Membership Survey.

We’ve also got information about this year’s Annual General Meeting, we’re hiring for our summer youth programming, and the Clearwater Valley Trails are officially open!

Fibre Arts Retreat

The Fibre Arts Retreat will be held January 30 & 31 at the Harvest Moon Learning Centre in Clearwater, MB.

Friday evening will be focused on English paper piercing (handstitching). Saturday morning will be a wet felting demonstration and in the afternoon we’ll be hosting the United Community Arts Creative Souls gathering.

Cost to attend is $25 plus a potluck item. Accommodations are available.

Agrarian After Dark

Harvest Moon Society, Young Agrarians, Fireweed Food Co-op, Manitoba Organics and The Dogs Run Farm have put together an evening to build connections between rural producers and urban consumers in the local food and fiber community. Featuring presentations by active producers and members of the ecological agricultural community, and allowing for conversation and connection in a fun, informal setting including food and refreshments. Harvest Moon Annual General Meeting

The Harvest Moon Society Annual General Meeting will be held virtually this year via Zoom on Tuesday, February 10 at 7pm.

At the AGM, the 2025 Financial Report will be presented, followed by the ratification of the 2026 Budget. The 2025 Activities Report will be discussed, followed by a vote on By-Law Amendments. The board will be proposing an amendment to Article 13: Terms of Office, changing the term length from two to three years, and changing from a three term limit (6 year max) to a four term limit (12 year max). The exact wording of the motion will be distributed to HMS members no less than fourteen (14) days prior to the meeting, as per the By-Laws.

We’ve put together a very short, three question survey so you can let us know what kinds of membership benefits you’d be interested in. All survey respondents will be entered to win two tickets to the 25th Perennial Harvest Moon Festival happening September 18-20, 2026 in beautiful Clearwater, MB.

Land Based Learning Interpreter

Come work with us this summer!

We're looking for a Land Based Learning Interpreter to work with our education team, hosting field trips and organizing summer youth programming. You'll also get to get your hands in the dirt and grow stuff in the garden and greenhouse, and be involved in all the neat things that go on at the Harvest Moon Learning Centre.

The start date is flexible and accommodations could be available for the right candidate.

The Clearwater Valley Trails are now open (for walking only, currently; benches, grooming, and signage should be ready for the weekend).

Clearwater Valley Trails is a new trail system (est 2023) located in Clearwater. It has 14 km of trails with sections for beginner to advanced level skiers. Trails are located in the scenic Clearwater Valley as well as at the Clearwater Ball Park.

Trails are groomed regularly and updates can be found on the TrailForks app. Classic ski trails only; snowshoers and walkers welcome.

Two trailheads are present – one at the Clearwater Curling Rink and one at the Clearwater Hall by the Clearwater Skyway. Maps can be found here as well as sign in sheets and a drop box for day skiers (those without a CVT membership). Seasonal memberships can be purchased on the zone 4 website - $30 for individual and $50 for family.

Washroom facilities will be present at the Clearwater Skyway Trailhead.
