Permaculture Earthworks Workshop

  • Do you want to learn how an experienced permaculturist approaches design and project implementation?
  • Do you want to learn how to use heavy machinery to repair the planet?
  • Do you want to learn how to passively harvest rain water in the landscape?
  • Do you want to learn key strategies for drought proofing any piece of land?
  • Do you like to combine intensive learning with getting your hands dirty?

If you answered yes to any of the questions above, we’ve got a rare opportunity for you.

When: Sept 12/13, 2011

Come and join the Harvest Moon Society and Jesse Lemieux of Pacific Permaculture in Clearwater, Manitoba for a unique permaculture learning experience.

Together we’ll design and implement passive water harvesting earthworks on the 3-acre permaculture test site at the Harvest Moon Learning Center. This is in preparation for the Forest Gardening Workshop to follow… all leading up to the 10th perennial Harvest Moon Festival!

Jesse Lemieux is a dedicated educator and experienced earthworks and permaculture design professional. This workshop brings both of these skill sets together for a two day learning experience that will inspire you and give you the skills to design passive water capture and storage for your own land, be it a farm or a backyard.

This workshop will cover all the basics:

  • Site analysis
  • Planning on paper
  • Picking the right machine for the job
  • Surveying and staking the site for implementation
  • Moving the earth
  • Site reclamation, planting the food forest and food ecologies

Go home feeling confident with knowledge and skills in the disciplines of permaculture and earth repair.

Space is limited to 15 so sign up now! An opportunity like this is hard to find here in Canada, let alone the rest of the world!

Full Cost: $200. A discounted/sliding rate (ranging from $50 to full cost) is available for those who are unable to pay the regular course fee. Please email education@harvestmoonsociety.org for more information about the sliding rate.
